  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and diced red bell pepper to the skillet and sauté for 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in the ground cumin, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well.
  6. Add the sliced Spanish olives and chopped dates to the skillet and stir to combine all ingredients.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
  9. Serve hot over cooked rice or with crusty bread.
