Ingredients

  • 1 pound of flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce for marinating and 1 tablespoon for sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch for beef marinade
  • 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil for cooking
  • 2 cups of broccoli florets
  • 1 cup of sliced bell pepper
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons of oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • Steamed rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Start by thinly slicing 1 pound of flank steak against the grain into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. While the beef marinates, cut 2 cups of broccoli into florets and set aside. Prepare 1 cup of sliced bell peppers and 1 medium onion, sliced.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for about 2 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally. Remove the beef and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the broccoli, bell peppers, and onion. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender yet crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables, and add 3 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
