Ingredients

  • Olive oil for cooking, 2 tablespoons
  • Onion, 1 each
  • Bell pepper, 1 each
  • Thinly sliced ribeye steak, 1 pound
  • Salt, 1 each
  • Black pepper, 1 each
  • Provolone cheese, 4 slices
  • Hoagie rolls, 2 each

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the skillet and let it heat up.
  3. Add 1 each of onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they are soft and slightly caramelized.
  4. Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add 1 pound of thinly sliced ribeye steak to the other side. Cook the steak for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
  5. Combine the steak and vegetables in the skillet, mixing them together.
  6. Season the mixture with 1 each of salt and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  7. Once the steak is cooked and seasoned, reduce the heat to low.
  8. Place 4 slices of provolone cheese over the steak and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
  9. While the cheese is melting, slice 2 each of hoagie rolls in half.
  10. To assemble the cheesesteak, place a generous portion of the steak and cheese mixture inside each hoagie roll.
  11. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious cheesesteak!
