Ingredients

  • mojo sauce made from 4 cloves of garlic, 1/2 cup of orange juice, 1/4 cup of lime juice, 1 tablespoon of dried oregano, and 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 1 loaf of Cuban bread
  • sliced roast pork, about 1/2 pound
  • sliced ham, about 1/4 pound
  • sliced Swiss cheese, about 4 ounces
  • sliced dill pickles, about 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your sandwich press or grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, orange juice, lime juice, oregano, and olive oil to make the mojo sauce. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Slice the Cuban bread lengthwise, leaving one side hinged. Spread a generous amount of the mojo sauce inside the bread.
  4. Layer the sandwich with sliced pork, ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickles, and more mojo sauce on top.
  5. Close the sandwich and spread a little more mojo sauce on the outside of the bread.
  6. Place the sandwich on the press or grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bread is golden and the cheese melts.
  7. Remove from heat, slice the sandwich diagonally, and serve with additional mojo sauce on the side.
