Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1 cup of mixed nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews)
  • 1/2 cup of chopped dried dates
  • 1 tablespoon of orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt

Instructions

  1. 1. Begin by preparing an 8-inch square baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
  2. 2. In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and coconut oil. Melt them together over a double boiler, stirring until smooth. Alternatively, you can melt them in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
  3. 3. Once melted, remove the chocolate mixture from heat and stir in the orange zest, ground cinnamon, and sea salt until well combined.
  4. 4. Gently fold in the mixed nuts and chopped dried dates into the chocolate mixture until evenly coated.
  5. 5. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  6. 6. Refrigerate the chocolate bar for at least 2 hours, or until fully set.
  7. 7. Once set, lift the chocolate bar out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Cut into squares or bars of your desired size.
  8. 8. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
