Gourmet Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
- 4 slices of aged cheddar cheese
- 3 slices of honey-glazed ham
- 1/4 cup of arugula
- 1 tablespoon of finely chopped pickles
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Layer 2 slices of aged cheddar cheese on top of the mustard on one slice of bread.
- Place 3 slices of honey-glazed ham on top of the cheddar cheese.
- Add 1/4 cup of arugula evenly over the ham.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of finely chopped pickles over the arugula.
- Layer 2 more slices of aged cheddar cheese on top of the pickles.
- Top with the second slice of bread, mustard side down.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter on the top slice of bread.
- Carefully place the sandwich in the skillet, buttered side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- While the first side is cooking, spread 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter on the second slice of bread.
- Once the first side is golden, flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
- Remove the sandwich from the skillet, let it sit for 1 minute, then slice it in half and serve warm.
