Ingredients

  • 12 manicotti tubes
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce, divided
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage and ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture. Stir in chopped parsley and cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the cooked beef and sausage with ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese until well combined.
  5. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly across the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Stuff each manicotti tube with the meat and cheese mixture and place them in the baking dish.
  7. Top the stuffed manicotti with the remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  10. Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
