Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  4. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts for added texture and flavor.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
